Question
The bike is a racing bike as it is labelled so, would it be good for stunts like going down half pipes n stuff like that, also what are some good cheap bike models for stunts? 100 quid max.
thanks :)
Yes its a bmx bike my bad :)
Answered by Old Hippie
Racing bikes were never designed or built for doing “stunts”. They were designed & built to race. You mean BMX bikes?

A good racing bike or road bike will set you back about $ 3,000.

Answered by bikeworks
The label of BMX has been bastardized over the years. It used to mean Bicycle MotoCross which implies racing, but some wizard thought to put stunting in the same category. I guess the term freestyle wasn’t good enough.

Anyway, no, a BMX racing bike should never be used for stunting, and you won’t get a good cheap BMX bike for 100 quid unless you buy it used, perhaps at a boot sale… and it probably won’t be too good.

Question
i have a diamondback and i want it lighter so i can hold it alot longer
Answered by john f
go brakeless, or take of fron t brake, lighter pegs, or no pegs, no chain gaurd, no reflectors..

or get lighter parts like titanium or chrome, anythin else suks

Answered by cyclone
Usually the heavy parts on bmx bikes are the frame, fork, and wheels. The best way to make it lighter is to change the frame but I’m guessing you don’t want to change the frame. So get a lighter fork or lighter rims.
Question
I bought the Daimondback BMX specialized for Racing, but it seems really slow, im a hard fast pedler, and when im peddling it doesnt seem to be moving very fast, i reach maximum power on the pedals and yet its still slow :s, what should i do to make it faster, i was told something about the BMX gear and that it might be a slow one :s, can i change that, and if i need to buy anything what should i buy??
help would be very much appreciated :)
thanks.

Dear

Tide a friends bike that you like the gearing on. Then count the number of gears on the front chain ring, and the rear cog. That is what you want to replicate on your bike. You can now compare that to the gears that you have on your bike.

Take those numbers and your bike into a local bike shop. They can take a look at see how best, and cheapest, they give you the same type of gearing. With a little luck, it will be only the rear cog that needs to be changed out, and the cost will be relatively small.

peddling: –verb (used with object)
1. to carry (small articles, goods, wares, etc.) from place to place for sale at retail; hawk.
2. to deal out, distribute, or dispense, especially in small quantities: to peddle radical ideas.
3. to sell (drugs) illicitly.
–verb (used without object)
4. to go from place to place with goods, wares, etc., for sale at retail.
5. to occupy oneself with trifles; trifle.

PEDALING: –noun
1. a foot-operated lever used to control certain mechanisms, as automobiles, or to play or modify the sounds of certain musical instruments, as pianos, organs, or harps.
2. a leverlike part worked by the foot to supply power in various mechanisms, as the BICYCLE.

No wonder you go slow – you’re peddling and not PEDALING

bmx isn;t meant for riding far or fast, just tricks and poking around
imho

get a road bike

you can get a bigger front or smaller back gear
that will make top speed faster but harder to go uphill
also you need to make the chain longer or shorter
this is why real bikes have gears you can change while riding

Are you SURE you have a Diamondback racing model? The only models they make for racing are the Reactor series and I think the Nitrous. If you have the Viper, Joker, Grind, Venom, Session, Skin Dog, or any other model then you have a stunt model which aren’t made for speed.

That being said, the easiest way to make your bike geared better is to get a front sprocket with more teeth, and you’ll probably need a longer chain. I suggest going no more than 5 teeth at a time- you’ll be surprised at how much difference this makes!

Question
I need a small frame, light weight bike that’s not too expensive. This bike seems to fit the criteria but I’m not sure how good of a bike it is. I’m not planning on using the bike very aggressively. Any information would be helpful.

It’s not bad for the money. The Sorrento is an all terrain bike. This means it is designed for riding on the road, and off road on smooth trails.

Compared with other brands in the same price range, the Sorrento has slightly better parts on it which makes it a better value.

Just about every Diamondback is available in different frame sizes (as are most other brands that don’t come from Walmart) so be sure that you take the time to get the size that fits you best.

Question
I bought a new bike through a wholesaler and am trying to register it, but can’t find the serial number. Please help!
Answered by Jib Jab
Flip the bike upside down. Most are stamped on the bottom bracket (crank bearings). Did you look on the sales receipt also? A reputable bike shop writes the serial # on the sales receipt.
Answered by Michael
OK so where the crank is connected to the frame it is called a bottom bracket it holds crank, bearings, and is pretty much what makes your bike able to run. On the bottom of it when you flip the bike over there is numbers in printed into it. That is your serial number.
