What is a Recoil? The dictionary defines recoil as “to spring or come back; react.” The Diamondback Recoil takes that definition to heart. Whether it is flying down the wide open trail or making its way through twisty single track, the Recoil will react to what is under its tires and then spring back and be ready to take on what comes next. With an aluminum 4″ travel frame, Tuff Shock Coil rear shock, SR Suntour XCT fork and 24 gears to choose from this bike will not cower in fear. Instead it will spring into action and give you a great ride. What does it mean to recoil? Question
I take off the rear tire of my bike and lay it on one side, then on the other. I hear something rolling from side to side. What is it? How can I fix it?
Answered by Old Hippie
I don’t know what it is either. But, if you bought the bike from a bike shop, they will check it out & fix it for free most likely. Sounds like a new bike. Should be under warranty.

the tire or the tube?

usually there is nothing in the tube

and there is nothing in the tire except the tube

or do you mean the wheel [metal parts with tire and tube removed]it may be a loose bearing – bad because your wheel may seize
that is in the hub

or a loose spoke nipple maybe fell into the wheel rim, if it;s hollow

Answered by Graham R
it could be the axle and i am not sure if this bike has sealed bearing in the hub, but my guess is no and there is a bearing rolling around inside the hub…if that is the case you have to open the hub up and look in.
Question
i purchased a 2009 bmx diamond back grind. (thats the model name) and i was wondering if there is a smaller crank that will fit on my bike. and one that has the matching gearing ratio, thanks guys! first one to find the correct gets ten points!!!
Answered by MaddGuss
The original crankset the 2009 DB Grind uses is 42T. Its rear cog is 16T. Actually if you are good at maths and divide 42/16 you get 2.625. This ratio if compared with the 25/9 set, there is some difference. 25/9′s ratio is 2.75. The closest sprocket size you can get to reach this ratio is a 44T with same ratio (of 2.75, same as the 25/9′s).
Now, if you want to get smaller set, you will have to change your rear cog which requires a lotta budget…
Concluding, the difference is so small, that by my side, changing to a bigger, 44T, or buying a whole new set is worthless. Save up my friend!

A lil info:
My Haro F1 2006 used to have a 44/16 set. I changed to 36T aluminum sprocket, and actually this is a f*cked up ratio but drives goood!

Hopefully i helped you!

Question
hi, i was wondering if you could change the tires on the diamondback insight1. i wanted to put mountain bike tires on it when i get the chance to go on trails. i do a lot of trails and commuting and i don’t know if i should get the diamond back insight 1 or the diamondback Lux. please help me out here!
Answered by Jeremy Y
If the width and length of the rim are the same on the MTB and your diamondback, the answer would be yes!
Question
I am a beggining BMX rider and was wondering if this bike would be any good. I am willing to spend a little bit more for a bike if it has a higher quality… Will take other suggestions. Thanks.
Answered by Josuee
Yeah it seems like a pretty good bike for a beginner
Answered by bikeworks
The Grind is an OK bike, but it is a junior frame, for those under 5′ tall. If you are taller I suggest that you look at the Diamondback Venom.
