The Wildwood Citi offers Diamondback’s elegant LBC geometry. |
The bike is structured around a Hi-Ten Remington Steel frame with Laid Back Comfort (LBC) Geometry and a 45mm suspension fork. The frame and fork combine to create a comfortable, maneuverable ride that’s ideal for both beach towns and short neighborhood commutes. The SunRace seven-speed twist shifters and Shimano Mega Range freewheel, meanwhile, create a smooth shifting and coasting experience. And riders will love the dual-density comfort saddle, which is far more accommodating than traditional road bike saddles.
About Diamondback’s LBC Geometry
During the development of LBC Geometry, Diamondback engineers were faced with the challenge of making the comfort bike more comfortable and easier to use without compromising its handling and maneuverability. They started by tilting the seat tube back. Way back. This allows the rider to be seated further behind the bottom bracket and in a lower position, which not only makes for a more stable and comfortable ride, but also allows for full leg extension to the pedals. At the same time, the design still keeps the rider seated low enough on the bike that he or she can quickly and easily plant both feet firmly on the ground. The result is happier knees and much easier mounting and dismounting.
Once the rider’s ideal position was determined, the engineers recognized two places they could improve the handling of the bike by not changing anything at all. Whereas other companies have been tempted to lengthen the chainstays and tilt the head tube back, Diamondback engineers opted for another approach, leaving the length of the rear end alone to maintain superior shifting performance and stable handling. Then they designed a new comfort handlebar with more back sweep, helping bring the handle grips within reach. Because the angle and location of the head tube remains unchanged, Diamondback didn’t compromise the performance of the bike.

You need the gyro so the rear brake operates and can still do bar spins. The front brake gives you a safety feature and also HELPS with rear manuals.
Tearing apart a bike will not make you a better or cooler rider.
If you insist that it get done you’ll need to go to a bike shop. They would have to rerout cables for the rear and make sure that everything works. Asking this question shows that you don’t have the mechanical experience to make it work.
One more thing- I suggest that you talk to your parents before you do this change as THEY will probably be the ones to have to pay your hospital bills when something happens.
Usually if you follow the money you’ll find the best of each type of bike… the hard part is deciding what exactly you need!
I recommend this one: http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=25135&subcategory_ID=4361
It has the added benefit of a fold out foot rest and a pressure guage so that you can use it like a floor pump but fold and carry it like a frame-mount pump.
Since the Grind has a one piece crank just about any chainring made for a one piece crank should fit no problem. If you get one that is too big it may hit the frame, so be careful. You’ll also have to adjust the chain length.
