Answered by bikeworks
It was built in 1975. There were more than 15 MILLION of those bikes made, more than 1/2 of them still exist.

For a realistic value, go to http://thecheapbikeshop.com and click on the link for pre-1990 bike values.

Question
I have a 700c Schwinn road bike that i am wanting to upgrade a little. I am still new to road bikes so i am wondering what would be a proper size carbon fork? Any more suggestions to help improve the bike will be appreciated. (please don’t say get another bike)
Answered by Carl_the_Truth
If it’s one of those bikes from Walmart, a carbon fork will cost more than the whole bike is worth.

tell us the truth
is it from walmart or target?

Answered by roadbikeaction
Edge or Easton Is probably your best bet. You should be able to pick one up at most bike shops.
Answered by Bob A
It depends on where you bought the bike. A Walmart or other department store bike is not worth upgrading.

There are several things to consider.

Question
It measures about 6″ X 2″ and is for the forehead area. My local bike shop does not have it and Wal-Mart does not, either where I bought the helmet. I want an accurate answer. Thank you!
Answered by Jib Jab
Not trying to be sarcastic, but you probably can’t. Helmets do not cost all that much. And if you have the same one I’m thinking about, it’s junk anyway. Amazon.com offers free shipping on many of its helmets from Giro & Bell.
Answered by Old Hippie
Helmets should be replaced about every two years or so. Sounds as if yours has seen better days. Giro Indicator is a good, well ventilated helmet. I had one of those Schwinn helmets some years ago. Too hot for me.

Many bike shop cary generic helmet replacement pads. Even if they are for another helmet, it is a low digit way of solving your problem. You just want it to be close to the same thickness. You can also make your own, Get the foam pad, and get some hook and weave material at a local materials store. I see at all the time at the car wash!. Attache the adhesive part after tracing the shape and cutting out the pads off the old pads. MAKE SURE YOIU USE TH RIGHT MATERIAL! One is hook, the other is weave (velcro) if you need to , you a put down new velcro on both the helmet and the pad!

Question
I just bought the schwinn tango bike and I was taught how to fold it but I can’t make it stay folded please help!!!!
I did ask originally Canadian Tire how to fold it and everyone that I asked (in the bicycle dept) did not know how to fold it . There was a manual with the instructions in it and I was able to get it folded but it will not stay folded so I think it maybe missing a step or something to make it stay folded.
Answered by Old Hippie
Take it back to Canadian Tire & ask. That’s where you bought it – I’m assuming. Because a quick search for Schwinn Tango first turned up a “tandem” bicycle. 2nd link.
Question
I am restoring a 1972 Schwinn Twinn Tandem and would like to find new stickers for the frame.

Spend your money on reducing the weight of the tires, tubes, and rims. Best money spent. Second, start a weight training and conditioning program. Third, dedicated bicycle shoes with stiff soles and clipless pedals. I have used the LOOK system for a long time.
Another example of bolt on speed is aerobars. Bolt them on, lay down on the elbow pads, go faster.
Lastly, be certain bicycle is “fit” to your body. Fit is everything for efficient bicycling.

it will have a 1″ steerer of which good luck on finding a threaded carbon fork in that size. or even a threaded carbon fork at all. if you find one on e-bay then you need to know the proper length of steerer tube. for the $ $ you could get a cro-mo fork from kona cheaper it’ll be lighter than whats on now.
