Wash it with warm soapy water a few times or wear it in a swimming pool and then wash it as the chlorine helps to get sand and grit out. xxx

Put it in the washing machine on cold water and let it swish through for a while. Then hang it up to air dry.

I was tired after going swimming (I came home late) and I promptly forgot about my bathing suit and towel. Now I’ve just found them and my towel was all black covered in mold. It was too far gone, but my bathing suit, after one wash, looks okay, but still smells of mold. How can I get rid of the mold on my bathing suit?

The spandex in your suit probably reacted with the pool chlorine and it turned yellow from the chemical reaction. This is not a stain, so it probably can’t be removed. This is why your suit label says not to use chlorine bleach when you wash your suit.

Hi there, You can try soaking your bathing suit in the following solution. There is nothing harmful ( No bleach ) it may work on your swimsuit. 1/4 cup of Baking Soda, 2 Tablespoons of your liquid washing detergent and 4 cups of very Hot water. Let the swimsuit soak in the mixture for a while. At least twenty minutes I would suggest. Once the swim suit has soaked, you can hand wash and rinse in cold water.Let it air dry. This mixture is used on antique lace linens etc. for whitening them up. So, it should be safe to use for your swimsuit. I hope that this has helped you!

Oxyclean – is a miracle product. Put hottest tap water in bucket with Oxyclean – read label and then soak your bathing suit in the water for a week. It should get the yellow out.

I’ve been swimming more and more lately and this is the second bathing suit I’ve had to trash already. The chlorine just completely eats the fabric and makes it sheer. Is there a way to prevent it or a certain way to wash it?

Well as a swimmer i had to go in the water every day that had happened to me but you know old trick of washing it in cold water before and after going in and coming out actually does really help so remember when you first go in and when you first come out. What can also help in wearing an old pair of shorts over it as well so when then became washed out it may not matter as much

It helps to rinse out your bathing suit after you swim each time in cold water. Also speedo endurance suits last foever and are great!

I have had this problem for a while but then I got a new suit. It is a Speedo endurance, it has special fabric that repels the water and chlorine. These suits go for the same price of any other jammer. When you get out the water you can literally swipe the water off your suit. You can also get suit cleaning material from www.swimoutlet.com. These work very good to on any swim suit, especially good for technical suits like Speedo FS and TYR Tracer
rinse it in fresh water after swimming, and don’t wring it out too vigorously but pat it dry and then let it air dry gently. Don’t machine wash your swimsuits – i know it sounds weird but some people do this.

Wear a Tankini. You can get a tummy control bottom, and a top with gathered sides to hide the belly a bit, or a little flare so it isn’t tight around your stomach

Its best to have a two piece swim suit with a longer top. maybe add on a skirt too if ur self conscience about you legs too
